WHAT WE OFFER
Build Self-Discipline
  Print document
  • Any time we sincerely want to make a transformation, the first thing we must do is to raise our standards. The most important thing is changing what we demand of ourself and be accountable for.

Are you self-disciplined?
We might understand “discipline” from two opposite perspectives: obedience to rules and mastery of a skill.
You might decide what kind of team you want: disciplined or self-disciplined. The result is simple either you have “a Head with Hundreds of Hands” or “the Power of One Pulling to One direction”.
In fact your decision to be HHH or POPO is mainly driven by your Self-discipline: Are you Self-controlled, Conscientious, Adaptable, Driven by achievement Initiative taker? What is your self-awareness?

Do you have the right team?
Many sport metaphors are used to describe the benefit to work as a team. We also like the sailing boat metaphor, where you hold the rudder (the direction decision) of the boat (the company) and your crew has to harness the wind (customer) into the sails (the value proposition) to reach your destination (far away). By heavy sea, would you really have time to instruct each crew member on what to do? Would it be better to have the right team on board before you leave the port? If your challenge is tough, you can’t sail the boat without the right team of executives on board. They will make the team work and share necessary information and knowledge to make the right decisions at the right time. What will create the passion is first the quality of the team members; Be rigorous with your selection then you will be able to go anywhere you need to go. Be courageous with the crew that is not self-disciplined get them off the boat. Put your best talents on the best journeys.

Are you demanding the same to others?
Self-discipline is the seed of the transition to excellence. Self-awareness is the way to grow this seed. If you want cultivating a core culture that sustains “transition to excellence” you will need to demand the same to yourself and others. This courage to set the standards will inspire others. The quality of your teamwork will reinforce your demand and explicit the golden rules and best practices. Finally you will find a core team that can be send to the moon to propagate and preserve the organization’s core values and maintain competitive advantage.
